Monfort Engineering History

Monfort Engineering Group was incorporated in 2002 and has its headquarters at Glendenning.
When one considers the history of the firm ? represented by employees in services as diverse as design, project management, high volume precision components manufacturing, we are facing an institution that has grown to become an efficient service provider.

Fast forwarding more than thirty years we are now providing highly skilled services to industries such as mining, material recycling, earth Moving, Building, Lifting, Material Handling, Automotive, Marine, Packaging, Printing, General Machining and Fabrication to Forklift Structural Modification and Repairs, or Forklift Attachments, Materials Handling Equipment and much more more.
The titan who envisioned the Monfort Engineering institution, not merely as a business enterprise but as a pioneer in the endeavor for industrial and social development, was its Founder, Mike Kumar.
Mr Alfred Cutajar formed Cutajar Engineering which was taken over by Mr Mike Kumar who renamed the company to Monfort Engineering. Cutajar Engineering was established primarily to supply to the material handling industry. Cutajar Engineering made it?s mark servicing renowned companies like BATA Australia, Brambles and Highstandard Handling Equipment among others.

The name Monfort had a sentimental value of it?s own to Mr.Kumar. In his early years, Mike was learning at a special vocational training institute called Monfort Boys Town. Mr Kumar learnt his trade from Monfort Boys Town and feels indebted to them. Monfort Boys Town is founded by St. Loius De Montfort, and is run by the brothers of St. Gabriel.

This institution was a school for learning various skills and vocational training. This training was especially designed for boys who came from underprivileged and marginalized backgrounds. These boys were taught different trades, particularly automotive, cabinet making and joiner, electrical and fitting and machining.
To date, Mr Kumar remains closely associated with the Monfort Boys Town. He does this through supporting them financially, with regular donations, incentives for the boys to motivate them to complete their education. He also attends the various events and functions held by this institution and maintains a close association with the brothers.
